Urrrrrrgh. And it's only 9:04 (or 28:87 on the WHOclock)
Somehow bank holidays and long weekends make all the other working days even worse

I get paid to swan around 3 days a week in a nice car, drinking tea and chatting to nice people the other 2 days I sneak off and play a bit of cricket or golf.
I consider it a long day if I'm not home by 4.
I know I could earn more elsewhere but then I would have to do proper work!

Sniper - I also hate my job. After running my own business and suiting myself, working for someone else is rather horrible - however I do get a guaranteed pay check at the end of each month now.
Working from home today, been to the gym this morning, so it's not all bad but I'd still rather be doing something I actually enjoy for a living.

Well here I agree with woody who is getting another job instead of doing one that he hates.
I suspect what is at play here is that people dislike the idea of work. I don't blame them either and it's why someone pays us to do it.

Used to detest it... but got over that now... actually don't mind it now... I think it was getting my head around taking it one day at a time rather than looking 10-15 years down the line... from my door I can see my office... 10 min car journey and a 5 min walk I am at my desk... it's a decent wage for local... great pension (STILL), flexi time... good holidays... and the work CAN be interesting... there are deffo worse out there... BUT... maybe in a years time I might go back to detesting it

even the worst/hardest of jobs can be enjoyable if you're working with decent people and under a good manager. the problem is, most places are now infested with shit houses, cunts and useless fucking managers. that's what makes jobs unbearable

I had my own business for 4 years and it nearly killed me.
7 day weeks, 16 hour days and all you are thinking about is work, work, work.
I am much happier being employed and being able to close my door on a Friday and not have to worry about anything. I shall leave that to others.

Surely 99% of jobs are shite, as only odd people enjoy working more than they enjoy their social time.
I just block it out and appreciate that I'm surrounded my stunners and work with some pretty decent people who like a beer.
The fact they're all lawyers and wouldn't give filth like me the time of day is neither here nor there ;o)

I loved work but then I started my own business as a young man and had a sense of satisfaction as it grew bigger and bigger until I took an offer I couldn't refuse for it and now....what's work?

Wow, enjoy that then Joe - she's meant to be an immense brat though isnt she?!
If I didn't have a family/mortgage etc then I'd leave and do something else. I can't though as my job pays more than I can realistically get elsewhere and can't afford to take a cut. The people I work with are fine, managers are generally ok but the content of the work and the day tondaybgrind of it all is like Groundhog Day without the humour
